About Us
The Team
Wouldn't it be great to play with the same guys year after year? Each year 5 to 7 NEW players are added to the roster as the senior players "age-out". The Select is made up of players from 13 to 18 years old. We've been around since 2008 and we're not planning on going anywhere! Contact us today and find out how you can become part of our team.
The Season
Our training is both on and off ice each week throughout the year and in the summer. The team participates in up to 4 out-of-town tournaments. With a 25-player roster each player will usually participate in three tournaments. Additionally, the team also plays in the local, highly skilled Summer Hockey League - SHL. There are 16 weekly games played from mid-April to end-July.
The Plan
The Pirates Select offers a mentorship program which seeks to develop a well-rounded athlete. This includes character development while improving technical skills and hockey knowledge. Many Select players transition from House League to competitive leagues through our developmental program, with most of them continuing to train with the Select in the summers.
